Taylor'd Decor is a luxury event decorating business created by Shamika Taylor. Shamika is a natural creative who enjoys arts & crafts and physically constructing backdrops and props.   As a child she would watch her dad, who is also her inspiration, work with his hands. Her dad is a retired Car Hauler and "jack of all trades." 

Because of this, Shamika also see's herself as a “jill of all trades” who will work hard for what she wants and accomplish it by any means necessary.

Taylor’d Decor is her baby and has evolved while working in corporate America where she was in charge of celebratory activities for her team. She coordinated and planned colleagues' birthdays, anniversaries, and retirement parties. Everyone would provide her with specific themes, color schemes, favorite desserts, and food choices. She took basic team celebrations to a whole new level.  The ideas that she brought to life include a jungle theme ceiling installation and a miniature Madison Square Garden arena setup that included a New York Knicks scoreboard. She also created shadow cutouts of fans and a pink, black & white MUA-themed desk design. One of her favorites was a hiking trail with a rocky mountain and a cascading waterfall that flowed into a handmade floor river!

Based on the artwork and creativity displayed with these events, colleagues started to hire her for their personal events and the rest is history.
